The DDoptics SHG 10x42 binoculars are the choice for anyone who wants to see fine detail at long distances. The 10x magnification brings birds, wildlife and landscape features noticeably closer, while the 42-mm objective provides ample light reserves for extended observation.
Two coatings for a brilliant image.
In the Schmidt-Pechan prism, the dielectric mirror redirects light with exceptionally low losses. The phase multi-coating on the roof surfaces compensates for the phase shift between the split light beams, preserving contrast, resolution and fine detail. Together with FLK glass, field-flattener eyepieces and FFMC, this produces an exceptionally clear image.
High transmission for detail at a distance.
Light transmission of up to 93 % gives the SHG 10x42 a bright, high-contrast image for detailed observation at long distances. FLK glass from Japan, dielectric-coated prisms and phase multi-coating use incoming light particularly efficiently. The field-flattener eyepieces also keep the image impressively flat and sharp right to the edge of the field of view.

The lightweight magnesium-alloy housing, grippy rubber armour and internal focusing from 2 m make the SHG a high-quality companion for extended observation.
Sharpness right to the outer edge.
The field-flattener eyepieces bring the focal points of the Petzval field curvature into a single plane. This keeps details sharp even far out in the generous field of view and reduces distortion without introducing the distracting rolling-ball effect.
Robust construction. Precise adjustment.
The magnesium housing and newly developed, grippy armour provide a secure hold – even in wet conditions. The metal eyecups adjust in four clearly defined steps and can be removed for cleaning. The centrally adjustable dioptre uses true internal focusing; the non-slip focusing wheel offers finely controlled adjustment.

Clear views when the weather changes.
The SHG is waterproof and nitrogen-filled. It has been tested at a water depth of 1,5 m for 60 minutes. The RNP coating helps the outer lens surfaces repel water – for dependable views in rain and changing temperatures.

High resolution
Like no other binoculars, the DDoptics SHG range combines extremely high image resolution with sharp detail right to the outermost edge of the field of view. Stray light and chromatic aberrations are almost completely suppressed through sophisticated processes and the highest-quality materials.
Transmission
SHG binoculars offer maximum light transmission of up to 93 % (90 %-91 % night-time value and 93 % maximum measured daytime value), along with an entirely new viewing experience in colour brilliance, contrast and brightness. This is made possible by newly developed FLK glass from Japan, dielectric mirror coatings on the prisms and a newly developed coating. Field-flattener eyepieces reduce distortion in SHG binoculars so precisely that visible distortion is almost impossible to provoke, even at the edges, without introducing the notorious rolling-ball effect.
Wide field of view
The newly developed armour makes SHG binoculars almost “stick” to your hands, making slipping or sliding out of your grip virtually impossible, even in rain. The fields of view of the SHG binoculars are premium too. The 115,5 m field of the SHG 10x42 is particularly impressive for its sharp detail right to the outermost edge.
