Anyone who has looked through high-quality binoculars, a riflescope, a camera lens or a pair of glasses knows how important clean lenses are. Even tiny traces of grease, fingerprints, dust deposits or smears can affect image brilliance, contrast and clarity.
That is precisely why we developed our DDoptics Optics Cleaner specifically for cleaning and caring for high-quality optical equipment.
The result is a versatile optics cleaner: a binocular cleaner for clear views of nature, a lens cleaner for photography and an eyeglass cleaner for everyday use. It is also suitable for other compatible smooth surfaces, such as mirrors and glass tables.
The secret is in the formula
What makes our optics cleaner special is the carefully balanced combination of a small number of specifically selected ingredients.
Rather than adding numerous unnecessary extras, we use proven cleaning ingredients that complement one another.
Fatty alcohol sulphates – effective against grease and dirt
These surfactants help loosen greasy dirt from the surface, making fingerprints, skin oils and other stubborn deposits easier to remove.
Sugar-based surfactants – effective plant-based cleaning
Sugar-based surfactants help loosen dirt and reduce the surface tension of water. This allows the cleaning fluid to spread more evenly across the surface and reach deposits more effectively.
Plant-derived ethanol – for quick drying and streak-free clarity
Ethanol helps dissolve certain types of dirt and speeds up evaporation of the cleaning fluid. Cleaned surfaces dry quickly with minimal residue.
Orange essential oil – natural cleaning power with a pleasant scent
Orange oil complements the grease-dissolving properties of the formula and gives our optics cleaner its pleasantly fresh, natural scent.
The formula contains no added synthetic fragrances or colourants.
Why does DDoptics Optics Cleaner clean so thoroughly?
Effective cleaning begins as soon as the fluid meets the surface.
Ordinary water has relatively high surface tension. It can therefore form droplets on smooth surfaces and has only a limited ability to remove greasy dirt.
The surfactants in the formula reduce this surface tension. The cleaning fluid wets the surface more evenly, penetrates more easily between the dirt and the surface, and helps loosen grease and other impurities.
At the same time, plant-derived ethanol promotes rapid evaporation.
The result: thoroughly cleaned surfaces, excellent clarity and noticeably fewer distracting smears and residues.

Binocular cleaner for hunting and nature observation
As a binocular cleaner, DDoptics Optics Cleaner removes fingerprints, skin oils and other dirt from external objective and eyepiece lenses. It is also a practical choice for the regular care of riflescopes, spotting scopes and other suitable optical equipment.
Lens cleaner for camera lenses and filters
For photography, this lens cleaner helps clean external lens elements, photographic filters and suitable optical glass surfaces. Clean surfaces help prevent distracting smears, so dirt does not compromise the image.
Camera cleaner for suitable exterior surfaces
As a camera cleaner, the fluid can be used on suitable external glass surfaces and compatible housing surfaces. Lightly dampen the cloth and follow the camera manufacturer's care instructions. Do not use it to clean the camera sensor or internal camera components.
Eyeglass cleaner for clear everyday vision
Eyeglass lenses also collect fingerprints, skin oils and smears during everyday use. DDoptics Optics Cleaner can be used as an eyeglass cleaner on suitable lenses. For special coatings and delicate frame materials, follow the eyewear manufacturer's care instructions. Remove loose particles first and clean with a soft, clean cloth without applying excessive pressure.
Telescopes, household use and other glass surfaces
Further applications include suitable external lenses and optical glass surfaces on telescopes, as well as mirrors, glass tables, display cabinets and other smooth glass surfaces. Compatible plastic parts and surfaces in the office and at home can also be cleaned. Optics care remains the main focus; household use is an additional option.
How to clean optics – application and dosage
Only a small amount of DDoptics Optics Cleaner is needed for effective cleaning.
First remove loose dust and sand particles with a suitable soft brush or blower. Then lightly dampen a clean microfibre cloth or dedicated optics cleaning cloth with the cleaner and gently clean the surface.
Less is often more: Using the cleaner sparingly promotes rapid evaporation and helps cleaned surfaces dry quickly, clear and streak-free.
For more stubborn deposits on suitably waterproof, sealed DDoptics equipment, the cleaner can also be sprayed directly and sparingly onto the outer lens to help loosen the dirt. Follow the care instructions for the individual device.
Developed specifically for waterproof DDoptics equipment
Our waterproof, nitrogen-filled binoculars and appropriately sealed optical equipment are designed to prevent moisture from entering. Normal cleaning with our optics cleaner is therefore also possible when applied directly to the external lens surfaces.
For cameras, lenses or equipment from other manufacturers that may not be waterproof, we recommend applying the cleaner to the cloth instead. This helps prevent excess fluid from entering unprotected openings in the housing.
Material compatibility: Suitability applies to the surfaces tested by DDoptics. For unfamiliar materials, test an inconspicuous area first and follow the manufacturer's instructions. This information does not replace product-specific care or safety instructions on the label.
Our tip: Lightly dampen the cloth, clean the surface without excessive pressure and allow the cleaner to evaporate. This gives you a clear, streak-free result with minimal effort.
