What is new in the latest generation of rifle scopes?
At first glance, 3 changes stand out:
1. The magnification ring has been noticeably redesigned, with a coarser texture for better grip.
2. Reticle 4 is significantly finer, leaving more space in the centre.
3. The reticle adjustment is made of metal, has more clearly defined clicks and features Doubleturn and zero stop.
Robust adjustment mechanism for demanding use
The adjustment turrets on DDoptics Generation III rifle scopes are made of a robust aluminium alloy, with no plastic components. All aluminium parts have the new non-reflective DDoptics "fine-black" anodised finish. The mechanism has been upgraded to the Tactical version: it is highly shock-resistant and completely waterproof, with firm adjustment that helps prevent accidental changes. The turrets can therefore be used exposed, without their screw caps, during everyday hunting, allowing rapid adjustment to suit the situation.
Quick reticle adjustment with zero stop
A dual scale (Doubleturn) on the elevation turret allows you to read and set the number of adjustment clicks.
After sighting in, the reticle adjustment can be reset to zero. The zero-stop ring is then turned as far as it will go and tightened from below to create a stop at the zero position. Starting from zero, and provided the ammunition load is known, a marking system allows different shooting distances to be preset. The windage turret has two scales running in opposite directions. Starting from zero, the reticle can be adjusted for wind direction and strength or for movement of the target.
New Reticle 4 for minimal target coverage
Looking through the new Generation III Nighteagle HDX rifle scopes immediately reveals their practical design:
The crosshair in Reticle 4N is much finer, while the originally thicker outer posts are now only half as thick and spaced significantly farther apart. This is a major advantage for hunters in poor light: the target is only minimally obscured, supporting fast and confident aiming.
The illuminated Reticle 4N is in the eyepiece focal plane (second focal plane), so its apparent size stays the same as magnification changes. No tools are needed to adjust the reticle. The scope has tactical 0.1 MRAD adjustment: each click moves the reticle by 0.1 MRAD, or 1 cm at 100 m. This makes it straightforward for European users to work with the decimal system. The click adjustment is fully repeatable and can be reset to zero after sighting in when using different ammunition loads.

The side-mounted, continuously variable parallax adjustment (20 yards to infinity) prevents errors caused by off-axis viewing and provides a pin-sharp, fatigue-free image at every magnification setting.

High-performance optics with improved contrast | CT glass
DDoptics Generation III rifle scopes use high-performance CT glass (Clear Transmission) with our proven DDlucid coating. This new glass delivers significantly improved contrast and reduced colour fringing. Transmission has also been increased slightly compared with Generation II rifle scopes. Both generations are already at the upper limit of what is currently technically possible.

Outstanding light transmission
The fully coated optics prevent reflections and provide a brilliant image with outstanding edge sharpness. With only minimal stray light, even backlighting is not distracting. Excellent light transmission of 94.7 % by day and 93 % at night allows reliable game identification until the last usable light.

Finely adjustable illuminated dot
Thanks to fibre-optic technology, the illuminated dot becomes not only dimmer but also finer as its brightness is reduced. Brightness is continuously adjustable from a setting suitable for backlighting down to night vision mode.
