New features
What is new about the latest generation of riflescopes?
Three changes are immediately apparent:
1. The magnification adjustment ring has been noticeably redesigned, with a coarser texture for improved grip.
2. Reticle 4 is considerably finer, leaving more space in the centre.
3. The adjustment turrets are made of metal, have more clearly defined clicks and feature Doubleturn and Zero stop.
Outstanding light transmission
The fully coated optics eliminate reflections and provide a brilliant image with outstanding edge-to-edge sharpness. With stray light kept to a minimum, even backlighting does not interfere with the view. Light transmission reaches outstanding values of 94.7% (day) and 93% (night), allowing confident identification of game until the last usable hunting light.
Finely dimmable illuminated dot
Thanks to fibre-optic technology, the illuminated dot becomes not only dimmer but also finer as its brightness is reduced. The dot is continuously dimmable, from a setting suitable for backlit conditions down to night-vision-device mode.
New Reticle 4 for minimal target obstruction
Looking through the new Generation III “Nachtfalke HDX” riflescopes immediately reveals their practical design:
The crosshair in Reticle 4N is much finer, and the previously thicker outer posts are now only half as thick and spaced much further apart. This is a significant advantage for hunters in poor light, as it keeps target obstruction to a minimum and supports quick, confident shouldering.
The illuminated 4N reticle is in the eyepiece image plane (second focal plane), so its apparent size remains constant when the magnification changes. No tools are needed to adjust the reticle. The riflescope features tactical 0.1 MRAD adjustment: each click moves the reticle by 0.1 MRAD, equivalent to 1 cm at 100 m. This makes it straightforward for European users to work in the decimal system. The click adjustment is fully repeatable and can be reset to zero after sighting in, for example when using several ammunition loads.

The side-mounted, continuously variable parallax adjustment (20 yards to infinity) compensates for off-axis viewing and provides a razor-sharp, comfortable image at every magnification setting.

Robust adjustment mechanism for demanding use
The adjustment turrets on DDoptics Generation III riflescopes are made from a robust aluminium alloy and contain no plastic parts. All aluminium components have the new non-reflective DDoptics “fine-black” anodised finish. The mechanism has been upgraded to a tactical design: it is highly shock-resistant and fully waterproof, with firm adjustment resistance to prevent accidental changes. This means the turrets can also be used exposed, without their screw-on caps, during everyday hunting, allowing quick adjustments to suit the situation.
Quick elevation adjustment with Zero stop
The dual scale (Doubleturn) on the elevation turret lets you read the number of adjustment clicks made and set it accordingly.
After sighting in, the adjustment can be reset to zero. The Zero stop ring is then turned until it reaches the stop. The zero setting is subsequently locked from below using the Zero stop ring to create a stop at the zero position. Starting from zero, and with knowledge of the ammunition load, different shooting distances can be preset using a marking system. The windage turret has two scales running in opposite directions. Starting from zero, the reticle can be preset to account for wind direction and strength or possible target movement.
High-performance optics with improved contrast | CT glass
DDoptics Generation III riflescopes use high-performance CT glass (Clear Transmission) with our proven DDlucid coating. The newly used glass type provides significantly improved contrast and reduced colour fringing. Transmission has also been increased slightly compared with Generation II riflescopes. Both generations are already at the upper limit of what is currently technically achievable.
